For-Profit Mission?

Building a better future for Honduras, one toy block at a time.

For-profit mission? Sounds like an oxymoron to most people! But the Moravian vision of Count Zinzendorf is alive and well in the Tegu toy company of Honduras.

"Business As It Ought To Be"

Katie Nienow creates "business as it ought to be," while restoring people to "rightness."

When she left youth ministry to work with microfinance, Katie Nienow's church employer was not supportive. Yet she found that helping people manage their income and expense was truly work that "engaged her soul." Today she lives in Silicon Valley, where she restores people to "rightness," while creating "business as it ought to be."

Here's Katie's story: http://www.christianitytoday.com/thisisourcity/silicon-valley/business-as-god-meant-it-to-be.html

"We Make Beautiful Places"

Bob Walker, President of Walker Manufacturing Company

A friend recently sent me 2 dozen links to video clips showing followers of Christ "contextualizing" their faith in the workplace. Over the next few weeks, I'll be sharing some of my favorites.

Today's clip is of Bob Walker, President of Walker Manufacturing Company, a business that makes lawnmowers. But, as they say it, "instead of making lawnmowers, we make beautiful places."

Enjoy Bob Walker's story here: https://vimeo.com/75361820
